UTTA league commences

With only 12 clubs registered and several others standing a chance to register, it has been confirmed that the Uganda Table Tennis (UTTA) league kicks off this Saturday.
 
UTTA president Denis Galabuzi said that all the 12 clubs have been preparing and will stage a competitive league. clubs include Centrix, Photogenix, Ndejje University, Casablanca, Quality Chemicals, Orient Bank, Shearing and Mbale Tigers.
 

 

Use sports to promote culture-Minister

"People from different cultural backgrounds should come together and unite in sports," State Minister for Disability, Sulaiman Madada said during the 8th edition of YMCA sport gala at YMCA, Wandegeya.

 He said that sports does not discriminate between the disabled and the able-bodied persons. "Sports brings together the able and disabled persons.  So, I encourage the public to actively participate in sports," Madada said.

 The disciplines played include d football, Basketball, Tennis, Pool Table, Athletics, Domino, Ludo, and Karate Sitting Volleyball.
 

It's Ruggers busy 2010 season

This weekend the rugby Cranes have a tall order. The two meet for their first of its kind in the CAR tournament-the Victoria tournament.

Accordingly, the Uganda Cranes must begin their Victoria Cup campaign with a gritty performance.

This is notable for the cranes on four fronts at both regional and international scenes.
First, it's one season that has seen many changes on all the local rugby national teams with new management lists, with coach Ham Onsando giving the national team a new face in light of the forthcoming Commonwealth games due in October in India.

Any team that gets an opportunity to climb on top of the league table must utilize it, as chance always comes once in a while.

This applies to the super league clubs especially the title contenders of Express, URA and Bunamwaya. The three are in a crucial moment in that the league is in its last five games least of which none would want to lose even a single point.
