KCCA buys new road equipment
KCCA road construction machines
The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), has purchased four road construction machines in the effort to maintain the city road network.
Under the Directorate of Engineering and Technical Service, KCCA has spent nearly three billion shillings for the purpose. It has bought two motor graders, one soil compactor and a compressor all valued at 2,468,328,803/=.
The Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago, while commissioning these machines today said, “This additional equipment will go along way in enabling the institution to deliver quality services to city folks in as far as road construction and other engineering-related services are concerned.”
The other equipment include; a crane track and jetting at over one billion shillings. The crane truck is going to be used for maintenance of street lights. The jetting truck is to be used for unblocking drainages. These machines will be delivered this week.
