Eddy Kenzo, Zuchu and Savara to Headline TotalEnergies CHAN PAMOJA 2024 Closing Ceremony in Nairobi

A dazzling cultural celebration awaits fans at the Closing Ceremony of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024, set for Saturday, 30 August at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. The star-studded line-up includes Uganda’s Grammy-nominated superstar Eddy Kenzo, Tanzania’s fast-rising sensation Zuchu, and Kenya’s very own Savara, co-founder of the celebrated group Sauti Sol.

The Closing Ceremony will begin at 14h00 local time (12h00 Morocco time / 11h00 GMT) and will be broadcast live on selected CAF partner channels, including KBC, SuperSport, Canal+, beIN Sport, New World TV, and on CAF’s official YouTube channel, CAF TV.

This vibrant showcase of music and culture will set the stage for the highly anticipated Final match at 18h00 local time between Morocco—seeking a historic third CHAN crown—and Madagascar, who are chasing their first-ever continental title in what has been described as a fairytale run.

The Closing Ceremony is designed as a celebration of the cultures of the three host countries—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, who jointly staged this historic edition of CHAN under the theme PAMOJA (togetherness). The performances are expected to capture the diversity, vibrancy, and unity of East Africa, reflecting the spirit of collaboration that defined the tournament.

The Star Performers

  • Eddy Kenzo (Uganda): Globally recognised for his hit Sitya Loss and as the first East African artist ever nominated for a Grammy Award, Kenzo is set to deliver his trademark Afrobeat and dancehall-inspired performance, guaranteed to electrify the Kasarani crowd.
  • Zuchu (Tanzania): A household name in the bongo flava and Afro-pop scene, the Zanzibar-born star and daughter of taarab legend Khadija Kopa has risen to continental fame. Known for her soulful vocals and energetic stage presence, she will bring Tanzanian flair and rhythm to the stage.
  • Savara (Kenya): Representing the host nation, Savara Mudigi of Sauti Sol fame has made a name for himself as a powerful solo artist. His performance is expected to showcase Kenyan musical pride, blending contemporary sounds with rich local influences.

A Fitting Climax to a Historic Tournament

With artists representing all three co-host nations, the ceremony symbolises the unity of East Africa and the growing cultural influence of the region. Fans can expect a spectacular mix of music, dance, and visual artistry before the final whistle of the tournament.

The TotalEnergies CHAN PAMOJA 2024 will be remembered not only for thrilling football but also for its celebration of African culture, youth, and togetherness—with the Closing Ceremony standing as the perfect curtain call to a landmark continental championship.
