Sept-Dec rains will again be weak – Latest official forecast
Most parts of Uganda will likely receive below normal rainfall during the coming farming season of the year (September – December) because of the effects of La Nina conditions that are associated with suppressed rains.
The latest forecast released, the current dry conditions are likely to persist until late September in most parts of the country.
News of the continuing dry conditions and anticipated low rains will likely be a blow to most farmers who suffered crop failure in the first planting season of the year – March – May, 2016 and is likely to push millions back into poverty.
