After two decades of armed conflict between the DRC government and the M23 rebels opposed to alleged political, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon travelled to the DRC and decided to visit Goma in eastern Congo, to see for himself the situation on the ground with a deliberate intention of talking the warring parties into a peaceful resolution of their armed conflict.
