Politician and legendary local Journalist William Ntege alias KyuumaKyayeesu quenches on problems as information reaching us indicates that he complains leaving in fear with some sources indicating that he is apparently changing his address following hostility from yet unidentified sources.
An insider revealed to us that Ntege accuses authorities and government for making his life hard given his political affiliation and connection to the People power movement a political spring crafted by Musician cum politician Bobi Wine alias Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu.
Apparently, Ntege who reportedly last year was involved in a brawl with Hon. Simeo Nsubuga the architect of constitutional amendment that saw President Museveni scrap the Age Limit from the Ugandan constitution is so much attached to people power that he was allegedly also involved in the Arua Fracas.
I am being threatened
Kyuma said that he has noted motorcycles and cars with Congolese and South Sudan number plates follow him and parking outside his home at night. He narrates that goons tried to break into his house.
“When I spent the 26 days in Kaweeri Prison in Mubende District, my neighbours told me of unknown people coming near my home and asking for my children’s names and how they look like.” Kyuma explains.
However, Kyuma noted that he is working with the Police that asked him to report these incidences.
Hostility from Authorities
On Kampala, 13th/December/2014; A City Hall Court in Kampala sentenced a freelance journalist, William Ntege to two months in prison on charges of criminal trespass and being a common nuisance at the Parliament of Uganda. Ntege had gone to Parliament to petition the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga over police brutality on journalists and other Ugandans.
A Senior Grade one magistrate Elias Kakooza convicted Ntege to jail over criminal trespass, while cautioned him on the second count of common nuisance.
Prosecution led by State Attorney Miriam Njuki told court that on 9th/Dec/2014, at Parliament in Kampala, Ntege did an act not authorized by law when he lawfully entered into the parliamentary building but remained there with an intention to demonstrate and disrupt business within parliament. Police confiscated his audio and visual evidence to police brutality.
