UPC’s Night Kulabako passes on
Hardly anyone mentioned the name Night Kulabako without associating her to the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC).
Referred to as ‘Mama’ by almost all UPC supporters, Night adored UPC that she dressed in red as a symbol of her undying love for the party.
Born in March 1948, Kulabako grew up in Abayita Ababiri – Entebbe. She went to Namate primary school for her P1 and thereafter Nkumba Primary School where she studied from P2 to P6. She then joined Nkumba Junior School where she studied up to Junior 3. Kulabako didn’t go further with her education apparently because it was not necessary for a girl children at the time.
Kulabako later joined UPC in the 1980’s and worked as a Gombolola Chief during Obote’s regime, a post that carried a lot of weight then, and has been a party mobilizer till her last breath.
According to Okae burial arrangements and details will be communicated soon by the party’s management.
