Djiboutian Warsama scores spectacular free kick despite defeat against Niger

Djibouti youngster Warsama Hassan Houssein had a brilliant game when he met Niger, he scored a spectacular free kick in the 89th minute.

Despite a 4-2 loss to Niger, the 22-year-old gave his team intensity and flair in the midfield, with necessary interceptions and passes.

Djibouti took the lead in 32 minutes thanks to Anas Farah Ali.

Niger fought back after half-time with four goals, including a brace for Ghanaian Victorien Adebayor in the opening 11 minutes.

In the 83rd minute, Hassane Amadou received a red card on during a warm up and Djibouti took advantage to score a second fine goal thanks to Warsama Hassan Houssein.

The match was played in the Moroccan city of Rabat.

On September 4, 2019, after previously representing Belgium at the Under-15 and Under-16 level, Hassan made his senior debut for Djibouti in a 2-1 victory in the Coupe du FIFA World vs. Eswatini.

The midfielder has signed for Sliema Wanderers this year.

The 22-year-old was part of the youth academies of Standard de Liège and KRC Genk and has already represented his country 12 times.
