Promoters force Navio to go for a smaller venue
Of late, they all claim that their shows was massive. But Rafiki has it on good authority that Pallaso’s recent show was massively attended because he got between 8-9 thousand revelers at a venue that can hold 25 thousand people, closing in on his heels was Eddy Kenzo’s weekend show which attracted a mommoth crowd at Hotel Africana!
Bebe Cool knows it that a full house at his cooperate venue translates to only 2 thousand people. Lutaaya choosing Obligato as his main venue was for the same reason Navio has decided to opt for a smaller and inexpensive venue, for his Njogereza album launch slated to be at Garden City roof top on 9th September.
You may all be asking why is this happening; well, a small chat with one music promoter has revealed that promoters no longer have the guts to invest 10’s of millions of shillings in buying out launches because they believe that Ugandans are still angry that some musicians betrayed them during the elections.
Now with musicians meeting most of the bills themselves, its only fair that many of them can only afford smaller venues that will not cause them losses.
Rafiki can only say; Smart Move.
