Ugandan tops at Prestigious University of Edinburgh
A Ugandan has entered history annals at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom as one of the very few who have earned a 1st class degree.
Hakim Kasule won the first class degree in International Business at Edinburgh University, which is one of the oldest university in the UK and ranked 6th best university in Europe by the Global Universities Ranking.
Hakim, born in a prominent business family we shall not disclose for now, attributed his runaway success to hard work and persistence.
“I wanted a good future and knew I would have to study really hard. But so pleased I have got to this level, There’s nothing quite like the sense of accomplishment upon finishing your degree, a feeling that makes all the late nights crying into your sandwiches in the library seem entirely worthwhile,” explained Kasule at a surprise party that was organized by friends at one of Kampala’s joints.
Kasule’s success at Scotland’s top University was the more important considering that he is born in a rich family where children tend to take things for granted.
Kasule had a piece of advice for fellow youth. He said: “At times you may slip in performance; at times the performance may be poor but hold onto to your struggle and always remember that a good academic background can be a key to your success, But never give up,” said Kasule.
One would also attribute Kasule’s success to the good foundation he obtained while in the formative years. He attended International School in Uganda which offers UK education. He also studied at the prestigious St. Andrews school Turi in Kenya.
Hard work pays, so goes the saying. And Kasule’s hard work will bring handsome rewards after he was hired by a top ranking European company. Kasule will soon start work in Switzerland.
