Tusker unveils Lager for Blankets and Wine festival

Preparations are in the final stages for the 17th edition of this year’s premier Afro-based musical festival, Blankets and Wine Kampala, sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager. The event will play host to more than ten artistes and deejays from around East Africa.

Blankets and Wine Kampala, is the first event of its kind to come in the year. It will be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 30th April, and will provide a stage to a number of thrilling artistes and deejays that will include: Muthoni, the Drummer Queen; Daniel Lemma and Hot This Year; Fena Gitu; KagerMungai; Pelindah; Byg Ben; Apio Moro; Joash, Mayonde and Essie.

It will also feature: DJ Beekay and RPM; DJ Rachel; and, the local stars; Cindy and Afrigo Band, who will close the show.

Many of the artists will be performing at Blankets and Wine Kampala for the first time and all promise to put up performances that will have the fans on their feet all day.

In Cindy, revelers should expect an electrifying performance as she sets to show-off her ever energetic dance moves.

The timeless Afrigo Band, will once again be back to share with their fans more than 40 years of musical experience with their new and old music. Many will look to dance to some of their classic numbers such as: Sikulimba, Musa, Nnemeddwa, Sipiidi Kendeeza, Onnemye, among others.

The Brand Manager of Tusker Malt Lager, Maureen Rutabingwa, said, “The ?Blankets and Wine Kampala experience only keeps getting bigger and better. We now look to add a twist to the fun-filled experience by providing our consumers with more acts and an extended performance time.

“The lineup is composed of outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of Afro-based music and the new up-coming Ugandan artistes that are doing things differently; and will most definitely put Uganda on the musical map. We appreciate our consumers and thus give them a chance to enjoy the rich African talent through live performances, “she added.

In line with its support for responsible drinking, Tusker Malt Lager will be maintaining a strict ‘Over 18 only’ policy for sale of alcohol, Rutabingwa said.

The entrance fee is 100,000 UGX at the Lugogo Cricket Oval and gates open from 12:00 p.m., on Sunday April 30, 2017
