Finally Unchained: Behold Irene Ntale
Thank you! This is all she had to say following her blazing solo concert at Serena Hotel in Kampala dubbed Ntale Unchained. It was a full house with revellers chanting her name as she rolled out several of her Musical Vibes in a concert that initially birthed doubting Thomas’s who doubted her success following her garish departure from her label Swangz Avenue.
‘After a while, I looked into the mirror and realized. Wow, After all those Scars, tears and bruises, After all those trials I made it through. I survived that which was meant to kill me. So I straightened my crown and walked away like a Boss!! Irene Ntale said.
Irene Ntale is more than happy following her first concert from the time she decided to go solo, thus the concert title; Irene Ntale Unchained.
The show that kicked off a bit late saw the guitarist hit the stage at 20 minutes to 10pm, but it later turned out that they were actually waiting for the patrons to fill up Victoria Hall that has the lower section and an upper section.
Irene was able to fill up the lower section, though the upper section seats were all empty, that did not stop the early birds from enjoying the show.
Irene came clad in a long slit red outfit and so were her dancers who were also donning red on black shorts for the first session that saw her perform the top hit, Gyobera , Kabugo, Ono Mwana and Langi Empya before taking a break.
Ntale returned for the second session with a gospel touch doing songs like ‘Mpulira Yesu’, ‘Something about you Jesus’ and Sembera that did not leave the patrons to their seats.
Singer, Lillian Mbabazi was in the house, she performed Dagala to crown off the Moze Radio tribute session, she broke down at the end of the session.
Notable among those that attended were Irene Ntale’s mom Robinah Kamya, Comedienne Anne Kansime and Hellen Lukoma among others.
