Kayihura commends police professionalism
The police chief Gen.Kale Kayihura has commended the police officers for the high level
of professionalism exhibited while arresting the twenty four suspended members of Parliament
last week.
While addressing the media at Kasenyi landing site in Wakiso district, Kayihura said he ordered the MPs’s arrests and that he had no apologies for what happened because police together with its sister security agencies were only doing their work.
He said that security operatives were so professional to the extent that they did not go with guns to affect the arrest despite the fact that there was a lot of chaos obtaining in the parliament.
He said they carried out the arrests based on intelligence that they received from Sunday indicating these members were planning to cause chaos in the city including burning the entire parliament.
