The Explore Uganda India Roadshow 2026 has officially begun at Le Méridien in New Delhi, drawing key figures from the tourism sector. Organized collaboratively by the Uganda High Commission, Uganda Tourism Board, and Uganda Airlines, the roadshow sets the stage for the upcoming Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2026 in Mumbai, taking place from February 5 to 7.

Uganda’s popularity among Indian travelers is on the rise. “Indian tourist arrivals jumped from 34,208 to 42,800 in just one year,” said Amb. Prof. Joyce Kikafunda. With initiatives such as the Explore Uganda Roadshow and OTM, Uganda is targeting more than 100,000 Indian visitors within the next two years.

Amb. Kikafunda also emphasized Uganda’s growing visibility in India’s travel market. “At its debut in 2025, Uganda clinched the Most Promising New Destination Award, a clear sign of growing interest from Indian travelers in Destination Uganda.” This second appearance at OTM reinforces the country’s commitment to strengthening tourism ties with India.

David Edyelu, Marketing Officer at the Uganda Tourism Board, explained what makes Uganda a unique choice for Indian tourists. From its rich heritage and authentic cuisine to diverse wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and renowned hospitality, Uganda offers a transformative travel experience for visitors from India.

The upcoming Outbound Travel Mart 2026 in Mumbai presents a key opportunity for Uganda to engage with India’s travel industry, forge strategic partnerships, and showcase its tourism potential. With a focus on sustainable growth and meaningful collaboration, Uganda continues to establish itself as a must-visit destination for Indian travelers seeking adventure, culture, and nature.
