Solve the problems that are bedevilling UTL

Of late there has been a wrangle between the Minister of State for Investment, Ms. Catherine Anite (Pictured) and her Permanent Secretary, Mr. Keith Muhakanizi, about the affairs that concern the Government parastatal, Uganda Telecommunications Limited. UTL is a major service provider for telecom services including; internet, cell phones and the like. As such it affects not less that half the population of Uganda directly; and indirectly, all Ugandans.
Sometime ago, our company required the use of Internet from UTL, and the officers came to assess the manner in which they would provide the same. Then we started hearing that there are many appliances that are disappearing from UTL. Up to now, the officers who came to assess us have not returned and we cannot get connected to them.
It appears that we are some of the victims that the quarrels between the big shots concerning UTL have affected. It now appears we have nowhere to turn to since even the other telecom providers, like Airtel or MTN, have to go to them to give their clients services for the same.
That being the case, it appears as long as the impasse between the top bosses continues; Ugandans are going to be the grass that suffers.
