“I have suffered and endured Gender-Based Violence! Yes, even as a Celebrity, a female politician, a role model, a mother and a public speaker. I have hidden my tears and pain under my dimples and smile, desiring to forget my past. But I cannot ignore the severe effects on my mental health anymore,” she shared
“Daily, I struggle with depression, anxiety, constant panic attacks, fear and nightmares.” She added.
Judith however assures that she is recovering and urges the community to open their eyes to reality and be kind to survivors of Gender Based Violence.
Judith Babirye got married to her first husband Samuel Niwo in 2005 and together, they have a daughter.
They separated in 2009 over cases of Gender Based Violence and infidelity.
In 2018, Babirye got married to Paul Musoke Ssebulime but their marriage was short-lived.
She at one point attempted to end her life because of stress, rejection and poverty as she revealed in 2018.
