Ministry of Health deploys ambulances to cater for election-related emergencies
The possibility of health emergency situations arising from the tense electoral period have forced the Ministry of Health to deploy ambulances to dispatch patients to hospitals.
A statement released by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Asuman Lukwago said his ministry had deployed nine ambulances across Kampala to ease safety and referral of persons who could need emergency care of any kind.
Lukwago said the nine ambulances will work day and night and will be available on call from nine locations at Bweyogerere, Kajjansi, Wandegeya, Fire Brigade, Nansana and Katwe.
Lukwago also directed upcountry health facilities to avail ambulances for emergency cases during the current electoral season.
