The Invincibility of the Workers’ Party of Korea
The WPK has won worldwide recognition as the invincible guiding force of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. For seven decades since it was founded on December 10, 1945 it has registered only victories despite the upheavals of history. Then what are the factors in guaranteeing its invincibility?
First, the WPK is guided by a great ideology
Its guiding ideology is Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism whose essence is the Juche idea. Setting out in his teens on the road to liberate the country from Japanese military occupation, Kim Il Sung authored the Juche idea in the early days of his revolutionary activities.
Holding aloft the banner of the Juche idea, he organized an armed struggle to overthrow Japanese colonial rule and accomplished the historic cause of Korea’s liberation. Immediately after that, he founded the WPK whose guiding ideology was the Juche idea.
Guided by this ideology, the WPK ensured that the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution was carried out with success and the DPRK, the first democratic people’s republic in the East, was established.
It also led the service personnel and civilians to defeat the US, who boasted of being the “strongest” in the world, during the Fatherland Liberation War in the 1950s and build a socialist power, independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in national defence, on the debris of the war.
As it has held fast to the principles of the Juche idea, the WPK has advanced the cause of socialism vigorously, without making any mistake or error in its lines and without vacillating or wavering in the face of trials.
Even when the countries affiliated with the CMEA (Council for Mutual Economic Assistance) collapsed one after another following the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, the DPRK remained unperturbed because it had maintained its independent line as required by the Juche idea.
The WPK led the revolution and construction according to its own principles and as suited to the specific conditions of the country without kowtowing to big countries or imitating others blindly. The anti-socialist forces the world over made concerted efforts to threaten the DPRK militarily and blockade it economically, but could not bring the socialist power to its knees.
Second, the WPK has achieved the rock-solid unity and cohesion of its ranks. Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission who was carrying forward President Kim Il Sung’s ideology and cause, developed the WPK into an invincible organization.
From the mid-1960s, when he started working at the Central Committee of the WPK, he focused on developing it into a steel-strong organization whose members act as one, firmly united around their leader.
He formulated President Kim Il Sung’s revolutionary ideas as Kimilsungism and established a well-regulated work system and strict discipline whereby the whole Party acts as one with the leader’s ideology and will as its guideline.
As a result, the WPK has been developed into a party whose members are single-heartedly united around their leader. In such a party there is no room for any alien political faction or ideology.
There are many countries and political parties in the world but there is no other party than the WPK, whose organizational and ideological foundations have been built up with the leader as the centre and where the monolithic ideological and leadership system has been firmly established on the basis of one guiding ideology.
Third, the WPK enjoys unreserved support and absolute trust of the masses of the people. It takes responsibility for their destiny and looks after them with maternal affection. It strives to reflect most correctly their demands and interests in its lines and policies. It maintains giving top priority to the people’s interests and working with devotion for their benefit as the supreme principle underlying its activities.
The harmonious whole of the leader, the WPK and the masses cannot be found elsewhere in the world.
“Let the whole Party go among the masses!” and “We serve the people!”?these slogans reflect the people-oriented policy of the WPK that believes in them as in heaven and does its best for their interests.
The Korean people absolutely trust and support the lines and policies of the WPK. They regard its Songun politics as a means of safeguarding their destiny and socialism in the fierce showdown with the imperialists, and its line of building a thriving socialist nation as a way for realizing all their dreams and ideals, and are devoting their all to their implementation.
Last but not least, the WPK has been led by outstanding leaders. President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il led the WPK for several decades, performing immortal exploits in developing it.
Today it is demonstrating its invincible might under the leadership of Kim Jong Un who is carrying forward the ideology and cause of his predecessors faithfully.
He has formulated Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the guiding ideology of the WPK and set modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as its ultimate programme. This is a manifestation of his unshakeable determination to carry forward and accomplish the ideology and cause of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.
His mode of building and leading the WPK and directing its activities is exactly the same as that of his predecessors. He is developing their ideology and cause on the highest level without any deviation and without any concession.
He has elucidated that the permanent strategy of the Korean revolution lies in marching straight along the road of independence, the road of Songun and the road of socialism as indicated by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il. The unshakeable aim of the WPK is to build a thriving socialist nation and achieve national reunification true to their intentions.
A statesman with youthful vigour and courage, Kim Jong Un epitomizes the dignity and invincibility of the WPK.
