Museveni to grant time extension to Saba Saba concert
Many times artistes leave audiences unsatisfied with their performances. This is not necessarily because the artistes are poor performers, but because they follow a time schedule that stops their events as soon as it clocks midnight.
It looks like things are to be a bit different during Jose Chameleon’s Legends Saba Saba concert slated for December 7, 2018 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The Mateeka artiste is, apparently, to be granted by President Museveni three more hours past midnight.
His promoter Balaam Barugahara told journalists during the official launch of the MTN Tidal and Saba Saba concert at a press conference in Kampala:
“We are promising you the best show ever. We have brought in some equipment from Australia and elsewhere. Normally KCCA allows us up to midnight but we are going to get an exemption permit from the Head of State. I am sure we shall go up to 3am.”
Those who detest curtain raisers should not worry. Chameleon will, during the Kampala concert, only share stage with artistes he has collaborated with before. Other artistes will perform on his other shows in Jinja and Kavumba.
“As much as I am an artiste, I also have to stand by the demands of my fans. Last year we had a disagreement between me and many of my fans. They told me that the pay to watch me, not the curtain raisers. I am not trying to be selfish and all the other artistes are invited. But this year let’s try and serve the customer the way they want it,” Chameleon said.
