Mark Makumbi dies

Renowned CBS presenter Mark Makumbi breathed his last this morning after a long battle with intestinal Cancer.

This could be shocking news to some especially since Makumbi had shown sings of recovery a few days ago.

About a week ago, Makumbi stepped into the Studios of CBS 89.2 Emmanduso to give punditry about a major English Premier League match.

Makumbi has been a multi-skilled person juggling singing, received rave reviews from his peers.

Makumbi gained popularity with his piercing critique of Uganda’s contemporary and traditional music on CBS’s Sunday Afternoon programme Kadongokamu Special

With his deep voice and no-bars-herald approach to situations, sociable yet aggressive character Makumbi easily found an entrance into television. Despite his relatively young age, Makumbi exhibited deep understanding of Kadongokamu which earned him respect among singers in the genre as well as media owners. It is little surprising that quickly fit into the job description of Kadongokamu presenter at Bukedde.

Mathias Walukagga, one of Uganda’s best Kadongokamu singers said on his facebook page that Makumbi’s death was a big loss to the industry.
