Students threaten to strike over unfair treatment
Students of Kyambogo University have threatened to strike if the government does
not urgently explain why they are not treated like their colleagues in other public
universities.
Addressing journalists at the university recently , the Guild President Joseph Ochieng
said government sponsored students have not yet received their living out allowances and many have now been thrown out of hostels for nonpayment.
He adds that the government also launched the new central students’ buildings but there are no seats yet the students are set to sit for exams in a week’s time.
The students now plan to petition the Speaker of Parliament seeking her intervention on the matter.
