UNRA to demolish billboards in Entebbe road reserve
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has said it will pull down all billboards illegally located in the road reserve along Kampala-Entebbe road.

“Owners of illegal billboards and signposts are advised to remove them within 48 hours from publication of this notice ” UNRA said in a public notice published Monday.
UNRA said the move follows the need to improve the management of the reserve which would involve beatification, and installation of street lighting.
Entebbe road is a major gateway to Uganda with major installations including Entebbe International Airport, State House and a number of hotels, leisure centres, government ministries, agencies and departments.
Part of the road was in 2006 remodel to a four carriage road, which also saw the extension of the reserve into settlements as the country prepared for the Chogm.
UNRA warned a number of companies including Alliance Media, Adman Source and Brand Active to voluntarily remove the billboards or they are demolished by the agency with cost.
Other warned include Hwan Sung, Roofings, Serena Hotel, Prime Media, Capital Outdoor and Image Crusade among others.
