19 killed and dozens injured in Manchester terror attack
Nineteen people have been killed and more than 50 others injured in a suspected terror attack at Manchester Arena in the UK, The Sunrise has learned.
According to the BBC, the blast happened at about 22:35 BST on Monday at the tail end of a concert by US singer Ariana Grande. She was not injured in the attack.
Police is treating the blast as an “appalling terrorist attack” and UK Prime Minister Theresa May has condoled the bereaved. She said her thoughts were with those affected.
Unconfirmed reports from two unnamed US officials suggested the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
Ariana Grande was on her ‘Dangerous Woman’ tour. The Manchester attack has resurrected memories of the November 21, 2015 attack at the Bata Clan Concert in Paris by IS terrorists that claimed 137 people. It happened while the rock music group Eagles of Death Metal was on stage.
