Government tasked to enact strict laws against deforestation
Bonita Arinaitwe Mulungi, a climate change advocate has tasked the Ugandan government to present a strict law that bans people from practicing deforestation as this will help in environmental conservation.
She stressed the proposal through her presentation at the official launch of the Uganda Water and Environment week at the Water Resource Institute.
‘We urge you to make a law where people who cut down trees should pay money to buy seedlings and double the amount of trees cut.’ She said
With her proposal, Bonita believes the environment will be conserved and chances of high death rates of infants will be lessened by 2040.
