Lwakataka and his co accused case adjourned
The hearing of a case against car rally driver ponsiano Lwakataka and his co accused John Sekitoleko flopped on Tuesday at Mukono magistrate court
The accused who was charged with malicious damage to property and causing bodily injuries to the people of Kiwanga village in Mukono district appeared before grade one magistrate Patience Koburunga but the state witnesses were not available and case adjourned to 5th of May
Mr Lwakataka and eight others were arrested in January by police in Kiwanga village Mukono district after allegedly demolishing the resident houses of George William Kawooya
The resident led by a one George William Kawooya dragged Mr Lwakataka to court
It’s alleged that Lwakataka claimed to be the rightful owner of the land which originally belonged to the late Anthony Kiggundu and therefore wants share
It is said that on January 12th 2019 Lwakataka and his unidentified friends attacked people in Kiwanga village and destroyed their property
While appearing before Mukono Grade one magistrate Patience Koburunga on Tuesday Mr Lwakataka requested the court to grand him bail on grounds that his health is poor
The court did not object Lwakataka’s request and he was granted a cash bail of one hundred thousand shillings
Jonanthan Muwaganya, the residents’ state attorney told court that case can’t begin in the absence of the suspects
The court was adjourned to 5th of May
