Kitatta sentenced to 8 years for unlawful posession of firearms
The General Court Martial has sentenced former Boda Boda 2010 patron Abdallah Kitatta with his bodyguard Ngoobi So to 6 years, 8 months and 6 days in prison.
“After deducting 1 year 3 months and 24 days spent in prison, this court here sentence you as follows; one, Hajji Abdallah Kitatta A1 to 8 years, 8 months and 6 days imprisonment on count 5 and sentences run concurrently,” Lt Gen Gutti ruled.
The two were accused of illegal possession of 30 and 20 rounds of ammunition for SMG rifles and pistols which belonged to government contrary to UPDF Act section 161.
Kitatta was arrested and accused along with his bodyguard Sowali Ngoobi and his driver Ibrahim Ssekajja in January 2018. They were found guilty in possession of firearms including an SMG rifle and a pistol.
