Suspected homos caught in the act

Caught in the act: Abdul Karim is under police investigation for homosexuality

Officers from Katwe Police station in Kampala have arrested two men for engaging in what is being suspected to be an act of homosexuality, a practice that is considered illegal under the laws of Uganda.

The Sunrise has learnt from reliable sources that a one Abdul Karim was caught engaging in the socially and legally reprehensible act of homosexuality with a young man, likely to be an underage.

According to reliable sources, Karim, 42 and a manager at Trans Sahel Logistics Ltd with offices in Kibuye, was arrested from a lodge located at Zana along Entebbe road after the residents stormed the place.

It appears that the social misfits took advantage of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown to engage in the criminal act but the residents proved they would not allow them engage in mischief in their area.

Angry residents stormed the lodge and beat up the suspected scrudrels but police arrived in time before they were lynched.

Sources within police say they have opened a file as investigations continue.
If the allegation is confirmed, Karim will join the growing list of people who are fouling the penal code act which outlaws homosexuality in Uganda.

Under section 145 of the Penal Code Act cap 120, homosexuality is considered an offence and offenders can be jailed for the rest of their lives.

The recent proposals by the government to further prohibit homosexuality under the so-called Bahati bill, has stoked public anger against anyone who is suspected of engaging in the act.
