MTN Uganda has launched the 2026 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Health, UNFPA Uganda, Uganda Red Cross, and other stakeholders, with a focus on improving maternal and child health outcomes across communities.

The campaign is being implemented under the theme “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community” and aims to support access to quality healthcare, particularly for mothers and children.

According to the Ministry of Health, MTN Uganda will invest in strengthening maternal and child health services at four Health Centre IV facilities identified following a technical assessment of priority needs and existing service gaps.

The selected health facilities are: Kibiito Health Centre IV in Bunyangabu District, Maddu Health Centre IV in Gomba District, Kiyunga Health Centre IV in Luuka District, and Karita Health Centre IV in Amudat District.

The Ministry said the focus on maternal and newborn health aligns with efforts to improve healthcare delivery and strengthen community health systems across Uganda.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Health and the Government of Uganda, I commend MTN Uganda for choosing to focus this year's campaign on maternal and newborn health,” said Hon. Dr. Charles Ayume, Minister of State for Health (Primary Health Care).

He noted that the health of mothers and newborns reflects the strength of the healthcare system, adding that timely, quality, and respectful care contributes to healthier families and stronger communities.

As part of the campaign activities, MTN Uganda said it will support public health facilities through community health camps, maternal and child health education, health worker capacity building, digital health initiatives, and critical infrastructure improvements.

MTN Uganda Foundation said the initiative is designed to address barriers to healthcare access and work with communities and healthcare providers to create sustainable solutions beyond the 21-day campaign period.

Uganda Red Cross is also participating through its Blood Programme, taking blood donation activities closer to communities. During the campaign launch, MTN Uganda staff donated blood as part of efforts to support Uganda’s blood supply.

The partners said collaboration between government, private sector actors, healthcare providers, and communities remains important in improving healthcare delivery and expanding access to essential health services.

The 2026 21 Days Of Yello Care campaign will continue with activities aimed at supporting maternal and child health services and strengthening healthcare delivery across Uganda.
