Kampala maybe a tale of several cities
I had not gone to lower Kampala recently until I went to Namirembe Road area where the construction of the new taxi park is going on.
The amount of noise is incredible. I was barely able to use the phone because of the noise pollution that is coming out from a hotch-potch of people trading and doing other businesses in the area.
I invite the KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi, or is it, the Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, to go there and find it out for themselves. Maybe they can find a solution to it. Otherwise, this is a different Kampala.
- I agree that along Kampala Road, especially around Uganda House, the taxi touts are the ones who make unnecessary noise, calling people who already know where they are going. But apart from the acceptable noise of vehicles moving, the noise level on Kampala Road is acceptable in the circumstances – Not by the new taxi park area.
