Abryanz fashion is limited, Josh SB
“Unlike Abryanz who focuses on the thin and tall, we are not limited to what we can do with fashion, like some of the designers “plus size” who showcased her art and another thing Brian doesn’t have is God as a upper hand, we are subscribed to Prophet Elvis Mbonye.”
The annual celebration of fashion is back and Uganda’s fashion industry is picking up, creating jobs for many young people.
The increasing demand for customized fashion wear is helping local designers to stay ahead of competing clothing importers while breathing life into the country’s resurgent textile industry.
The Fashion Revolution expo 1st Edition took place this December on 7th at Ntinda complex, the expo was set under the theme “Celebrating the African woman” and not forgetting a slogan they used throughout the show “Stop religious policies.”
Nine designers like Ampire Ritah, Moraya with the “feel of royalty” brand, “house of fashion” by Brenda Karungi, frances with the “crochet”, plus size fashion and Zoe girl couture and others showcased their art.
“Rruu, Tutuse” Artist Ruyonga and Mc kenzie graced the show as they entertained the viewers who love fashion.
The multitalented producer Joshua Waiswa Timothy aka Josh SB who spearheaded the expo said he discussed with his friends and thought it would be good if they would put their art out to the public.
“I wanted to do a fashion show that focused on upcoming designers, there are many designers that are not known out there yet they have good work.”
“Designers don’t have a voice so this should be a platform for them to showcase their work and be put on the spot.”
Aside competition, Josh said they are not worried about Abryanz despite having the best fashion brand in Uganda.
“Unlike Abryanz who focuses on only the thin and tall, we are not limited to what we can do with fashion, like some of the designers “plus size” who showcased her art and another thing Brian doesn’t have is God as a upper hand, we are subscribed to Prophet Elvis Mbonye.”
Founder of “Zoe Courture” Designer Zoe girl is one of the designers that championed the expo as she also showcased her work.
Josh believes that in a few years to come his fashion brand will be better than Abryanz and whoever is in the game right now.
