Finally, Shifah Musisi! Afro-Soul Queen ends 6-year long wait for concert
Lovers of Afro-Soul music should whet their appetites for an enthralling performance. Musisi’s very first show since storming the industry six years ago, will take place at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala on November 1, 2019.
The concert is titled: Unveiling Shifah Musisi in Live Concert November 1, in which the soul artiste has promised to perform all her songs on her two albums I.e Olugendo, and her most recent one titled Happy and Darkness Times.
While addressing the news conference at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala this week, Musisi promised her fans the best show of her life.
“Everything is set and I am ready. So my supporters should expect the greatest performances. I shall sing all my songs from both albums as well as my new songs from yet to be published albums and collaborations,” she said.
She added: “It is time. Six years down the road I wanted to see how far I have come and every artiste should do that.”
According to Musisi, the maiden concert shall be followed with a charity show, which she will hold in Kapeka at Mulama Secondary School in Luwero district on November 9, 2019.
“I have done this as a charity show to give back to the community. Remember this is where I was born and studied. It is also where my parents are buried. So I felt I have to give back to them through my career,” she said.
She added: “I remember when I was growing up, we could only see bouncing castles and other playing games for children when we come to Kampala and this is what is still going on so I want our children in the village to also enjoy the life that their counterparts in the city experience.”
Although this is her first concert, Shifah has performed at numerous festivals and events both locally and Internationally including at the annual Bayimba Festival 2018, Ongala Music Festival 2018 (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania), DOADOA 2018, Roast & Rhyme (17th edition).
Her song titled “Ebilowozo” was nominated at the prestigious HiPipo 2019 awards for Best RnB/Soul song, her first ever award nomination.
But Shifah is worth more than a HiPipo recognition. Proof of this is that she is the only Ugandan artiste who was chosen to perform in collaboration with other African stars on a song titled ‘I am African’ that was released worldwide.
People behind the concert
