Flavia Tumusiime Appointed Head of Broadcasting at Nation Media Group Uganda

Nation Media Group Uganda has officially named celebrated media personality Flavia Tumusiime as its new Head of Broadcasting, ushering in a new era of innovation and growth in the company’s broadcast division.

With over two decades of experience spanning television, radio, and digital media, Flavia brings a dynamic blend of creativity, leadership, and industry insight to the role. Her appointment signals a strategic move by Nation Media Group Uganda to bolster its content development, audience engagement, and digital transformation efforts in an increasingly competitive media landscape.

“We are excited to welcome Flavia Tumusiime to our leadership team,” the management of Nation Media Group Uganda said in a statement. “Her impressive track record, deep understanding of African media markets, and passion for impactful storytelling make her a perfect fit for this role.”

Flavia’s media journey began in her teenage years with the iconic Teen’s Club show on WBS TV, where she honed her skills alongside fellow young presenters. Over the years, she has built a reputable portfolio, presenting shows such as K-Files and the Guinness Football Challenge, which aired on NTV Uganda, ITV, and KTN in Kenya. She also made her mark on the continental stage as a co-host of Big Brother Africa.

In radio, Flavia is best known for her long-standing tenure at 91.3 Capital FM, where she became a household name with her captivating presence and authentic connection with listeners. She also briefly worked with HOT100 FM in 2006.

Outside the studio, Flavia has demonstrated versatility as a voice-over artist and emcee for high-profile regional events. Her departure from Capital FM in August 2022 marked a turning point, as she expressed a desire to “stretch her potential and explore new opportunities”—a journey that has now led her to this leadership role.

As Head of Broadcasting, Flavia will oversee content strategy and production across the group’s platforms, guiding the broadcasting team toward a forward-looking vision centered on innovation and audience-centric programming.

“I’m deeply honored to take on this new challenge with Nation Media Group Uganda,” Flavia said. “Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do, and I look forward to working with a talented team to shape the future of broadcast in Uganda and beyond.”

Her appointment has been met with widespread support from fans, industry colleagues, and media watchers who view her elevation as a deserved recognition of her talent and dedication.

With Flavia Tumusiime at the helm, Nation Media Group Uganda is poised to strengthen its position as a leading media powerhouse in the region, backed by a legacy of excellence and a renewed commitment to quality, innovation, and impact.
