Patrick Luwandagga’s sudden death shakes Uganda’s sports fraternity
UBC’s veteran sports commentator Andrew Patrick Luwandagga has died.
Luwandagga died at around 5am on Saturday morning at his home in Namasuba. High blood pressure is suspected to be the cause of his death. His sudden death has shaken the sports fraternity in Uganda and more so at UBC where he worked all day Friday.
Media reports indicate that Katwe police has detained his son named after his father, for allegedly having triggered his father’s pressure to spike when he returned home late in the night as well as for causing unrest in the family.
Luwandagga was the Head of Sports and Current Affairs at UBC. He was also the First Vice President of Federation of International Cinema and Television Sports based in Milan, Italy.
