President-Elect Donald Trump after it emerged he had won the presidency

The Republican contender in the United States Presidential Elections Billionaire businessman Donald J. Trump has shocked many across America and the whole world by winning the presidency after nearly all polling forecasters had shown he was trailing his democratic competitor Hillary Clinton.

Trump, disrespectful character ‘unfit-to-be-president’, stunned many by beating Clinton in what experts have described as the most dramatic victory in US politics.

Trump clinched and even surpassed the magical 270 electoral collage delegates out of the total 538 votes expected even before all  the votes were in.

But Trump’s victory sent Futures and money markets in New York and across Europe and Asia tumbling. Experts attributed the collapse in stock values to uncertainty among investors as to the likely negative impacts of Trump’s policies to world trade and the general global economy.

Trump’s victory has sent shivers down the spines of many people who reacted with horror and shock.

According to bbc.com, Trump told a jubilant crowd in New York that he had received a telephone call from his competitor Hillary Clinton conceding defeat.

“I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us on our victory,”
Trump added: “Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country. It is time for us to come together as one united people.”

Republicans also swept to victory in both houses of congress.
