Kabowa Residents live in fear over strange disease
Residents of Kironde Zone, Kabowa parish in Kampala are in panic following what they suspect to be a cholera outbreak in the area.
Residents said on Sunday that some of them had started vomiting, diarrheating, experiencing abdominal pain and one of them had died
They suspect that poor hygienic conditions and the over flow of Nalukolongo channel are responsible for the outbreak. Symptoms of the disease are similar to those of cholera.
The Ministry of Health has confirmed that they are aware of the outbreak and have collected blood samples for investigation.
“Let our medical experts at the Central Public Health Laboratory do their role then we shall get back to the public and inform them what we found out after investigation,” Emmauel Nnebyoona, the ministry’s Senior Public Relation Officer said.
Juma Lubega, the Councilor Kabowa 1 parish said one Gladys Nampijja succumbed to the illness.
