Halima Nakaayi Makes Uganda Proud

Ugandan athlete Halima Nakaayi has raised Uganda’s flag high after winning gold in the 800m race in the women’s final at the 2019 IAAF world athletics championship in Doha, Qatar.
The 24 year old Ugandan middle distance runner achieved her biggest success ever after winning her first-ever gold medal for Uganda.
Nakaayi made a national record of 1:58.04 followed by US’s Raeyn Rogers and Ajee Wilson in second and third place while Uganda’s Winnie Nanyondo.
Uganda has fielded 22 athletes in the Championship that is taking place in Qatar Doha.
