Let us sell Government

My only worry is that no one might be willing to buy it! But we can handle the transaction in the same way we did to nonperforming parastatals!

Prior to the political and economic degeneration that followed the bisanja (no term limit) politics, Uganda was among the few countries often cited as success stories of John Williamson’s (1990) Washington Consensus. Williamson led a group of World Bank economists whose 1990 advice of “stabilise, privatise, and liberalise” to politicians in the developing world became the mantra of the day.
