Damiano and I now reconciled: Happily Married
“Hajji, I couldn’t believe my dad, but he had said it. I went back to my room confused. I didn’t want to call Damiano because he had nailed his last. But my heart was beating very fast for him.
“After I deliberated with myself over the issue for some four hours, I resolved to call, and seriously blame, and caution him. His phone was off. I tried his hot line, but that, too, was off. That night I didn’t sleep trying several times to call him in vain. I started to get worried. Remember he was the one in charge of my graduation party.
“Two days passed and I requested dad to shorten the trip and return to Kampala.
“In Kampala, I found a note at home. Damiano had paid everything for the party including the venue, decorations, food, drinks, Afrigo Band, the cake and my two dresses, leaving behind UGX 1.5 million in cash;the lot!
“He left an apology letter that he was very sorry to hit my dad that he wouldn’t wish to look into my face again for it was so shameful and painful. He wished me to continue with my life and stop our affair. And he swore never to disturb me. He ended by saying that; it was all because of the love he had for me.
“I read the note and cried. I showed it to dad who felt very sorry for me. He tried to look up for him. At his office, dad was informed that Damiano went for a holiday out of the country.
“A week past and the graduation party was to be in two days’ time. There was nothing from Damiano.
“I was going mad, Hajji, Awowenakitegeereranti love eruma. The party was to be on Friday, that morning. I received many massages congratulating me. But there was this message with a UK number from Damiano. ‘Dear Naziwa, hope everything is moving on well. Congs and enjoy your day. I’m sorry again. Please continue with your life’.
“I nearly failed to go to the University had it not been for the intervention of dad. He counseled me that Damiano was mine. Everything that whole day was beautiful and went on smoothly, but I was crying. People thought these were tears of joy, but these were tears of love. It was only dad who knew why.
“To cut the long story short, Hajji, we later reconciled with Damiano and got married.
We’ve been together for three years, now.
“He has never hit me and I always communicate with him when meeting somebody. He developed a sense of trust in me and these days he doesn’t care who I talk to. We have two children, and his businesses are doing well.
“All in all we are happily married. Thanks for your time. God bless you, Hajji.”
