Pearl Rhythm Festival on this weekend
The Pearl Rhythm Festival is back this Saturday 27th October 2018 at the National Theatre.
For the lovers of Ugandan music, expect sizzling performances from Suzan Kerunen, Sammy Kasule, Ziwuuna Band, Wake 256, Bukachimey, Sandra Kay and Kenya’s Michel Ongaro – the guest artiste.
Young talents including Aloysius Migadde, Andereya, Amaru and the Undercover Brothers, who were nurtured by the Pearl Rhythm Foundation, will also grace the stage.
Kerunen, a co-founder of the Pearl Rhythm Foundation says the event will give kids a chance to understand Uganda’s Arts and Culture.
“We have an arts archive for kids. It is all about teaching them what it means to know, have, understand and embrace our grass roots in terms of music, culture and knowledge,” Kerunen says.
Kerunen says the love to preserve and promote Ugandan culture inspired a group composers, tourism artistes and producers to start the Pearl Rhythm Foundation.
This is going to be the sixth edition of the Pearl Rhythm Festival.
