National ID: Ugandans warned on false data

Internal Affairs Minister Gen. Aronda Nyakairima is in charge of the exercise

The Assistant manager National ID registration project Paul Bukenya (Pictured) has warned Ugandans against declaring wrong information for convenience in the ongoing national ID registration process saying it is a matter of time before it catches up against them.

“Whenever Ugandans declare false data about themselves in the name of convenience, we are calling upon those who are yet to register to avoid falsifying their personal data because it will in turn lead to a false identity.” Bukenya said adding that although such information will not wholly appear on the ID card itself, it will feature on their electronic files in the national data bank and is likely to haunt them until it will be updated or corrected at intervals yet to be announced.
