Chinese Community Donates to a Ugandan School
The Chinese Business Community in Uganda led by the China Enterprises Chambers of Commerce, has today donated a basketball court and scholastic materials to Luyanzi College School in Bweyogerere todevelop education and physical growth of Children in Uganda.
The Chambers of Commerce donated textbooks worth 15 million Uganda Shillings and together with its member enterprises like China Communications Construction Company, Huawei, China Railway Seventh Group, China Railway No.3 Engineering Group and Hima Cement donated a basketball court.
Mr. Zheng a representative from the China Enterprise Chamber of Commerce commended the Chinese business communities for their effort of ensuring Uganda Children are have better education and physical growth. He also noted the need to educate Children because they are the hope of nations.
The Basketball court inauguration ceremony was led by the State Minister of Sports Hon Charles Bakkabulindi who also commended the School administration for bringing China closer to Uganda by teaching the Chinese language to Ugandan students.
“This will simplify our work as government and save time for Ugandan students who will have to first study Chinese during their scholarships in China,” he said.
The Chinese Ambassador H.E Zheng Zhuqiang who was also the Chief Guestappreciated the generous donation made by the China Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and its member companies. He noted that this donation is a boost to school’s teaching facilities and a healthy education environment.
Scholarships and other materials were also donated by Hua Yuan group, Wu Yi group, Chinese Supermarket group, Hisense and Tian Tang group respectively.
