This picture was taken by our journalist depicting a Marabou Stork on one of Kampala’s hotels along Jinja road, drinking from a reserve water tank.

On a daily basis, these birds visit this facility and drink water.

Marabou Storks are known to feed from landfills and abattoir where they pick up decaying matter and faeces. Hundreds of properties across Kampala don’t have properly protected tanks, exposing unsuspecting tenants arising from water contamination
