One victory deserves another
The long wait for Uganda Cranes to qualify for the African cup of Nations is finally over. Yes, advice the Cranes finally won their way to the entry of African Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Gabon in January 2017 when they beat Comoro last Sunday with 1-0 win.
Since for 38 years Uganda has been waiting for such a victory, should we call it quits and lay low since we have made history? Because that’s exactly what many people do when they reach the top. They tend to relax thinking that it’s all over.
But I want to warn the Cranes that the win we got last Sunday is just the beginning. Let us not relax. Now is the time we take it all. One victory deserves another. You may say am a dreamer but dreams come true. The reason we kept believing in the Cranes, cheering them on despite their past failures is because we kept dreaming that one day we could make it to the African Cup of Nations and we did it.
So if we have been granted the chance to participate in the Nations Cup, its time we take our football to the next level. We need to show other African countries that while it’s our second time after 38 years to participate in the African game, we are not meat to be minced. It’s only that way we will be assured of another victory. You never know, that could get us to be recorded in world history.
