Vipers unveil Brazilian Robertinho as head coach
Vipers Football club have unveiled Roberto Oliviera aka Robertinho as thier new head coach. He replaces Fred Kajoba, who left the club towards the close of last season.
Oliviera was unveiled by club President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa before at St. Mary’s Kitende Stadium press room.
Mulindwa revealed that Olivieira had been selected from 84 applicants, and that his CV was the most compelling of all.
“It was a very rigorous process and we are very happy with the selection we made, he is a Brazilian with a winning mentality but beyond that, his understanding of the game is precisely where Vipers want to be,” Mulindwa said.
Olivieira was unveiled together with his assistant Marcelo Cardoso on a three (3) year contract and the pair will start work immediately.
“I like teams with balance and I will blend young players and those with experience,i have spent 22 years as a player and 25 years as a coach at a high level and I believe I will bring a winning mentality to the team,” Oliveira said.
The appointment, ends speculations that Mike Mutebi, KCCA’s former coach, would be handed the job.
Oliveira joins other foreign Coaches like Miguel Dacosta, among others to coach the Kitende based side.
