Africana Hotels founder BMK passes on

Hajj Bulayimu Muwanga Kibirige popularly known as BMK, the proprietor of Africana group of Hotels and a string of other businesses in Uganda has passed.

The Sunrise has confirmed from close friends of the late that BMK died from a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya where he has been receiving treatment for Prostate cancer.

Kibirige has been one of the most successful and self-made businessmen who started very humble to build a prosperous hotel empire under the brand of Africana Hotels which includes Hotel Africana along Wampewo Avenue and Hotel Africana Moroto.

BMK also ran other businesses in the heavy machineries as well as selling spare parts.

A strong Muslim, Kibirige built a reputation as a regular contributor to charity causes.
